Manchester United have been credited with an interest in Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic.
The Serbia international’s relationship with the Italian giants has gone sour due to his refusal to extend his contract beyond 2026.
Juventus want him to leave this summer, but he is demanding a €10 million compensation package to leave the Allianz Stadium.
Amid uncertainty regarding the 25-year-old’s future, journalist Fabrizio Romano, via his YouTube channel, has revealed that United have been offered the opportunity to sign him.
He said: “Dusan Vlahovic is expected to leave Juventus this summer. The player has been offered to Man United, so that is why there have been stories and rumours.
“But at the moment, United are focused on (Bryan) Mbeumo and are not advancing on this deal. They are aware of the possibility but at this stage I am not aware of any negotiation for Vlahovic to Man United.”
The Mirror claimed early this month that Juventus had offered Vlahovic, Douglas Luiz, or Timothy Weah as a makeweight in their negotiation for Jadon Sancho.
However, a potential deal for Vlahovic would likely be independent of Juventus’ move for Sancho.
Given his performance in Serie A, the Manchester outfit could make a smart move by signing the former Fiorentina youngster.
He scored 10 goals last season, marking the fifth time in the previous six league seasons that he has reached double digits.
He also has a decent goalscoring record in the Champions League, netting six goals in 16 matches.
Former Serbian forward Darko Kovacevic believes his countryman could be a ‘good option’ for United.
Juventus want between €25m and €30 m for him, making him an affordable target for the Red Devils.
If Man United intensify their interest in him, they may face competition from AC Milan, who are also interested in his signature.
