5 highest-paid 49ers players in 2025 (Brock Purdy isn't one of them)

When it comes to the highest-paid San Francisco 49ers players, one might assume quarterback Brock Purdy would sit atop the list, given the five-year, $265 million contract he signed back on May 16.

What's important to remember, however, that his deal was an extension, one that will keep him in San Francisco through the 2030 season.

As such, Purdy is not among the top five on the list of the highest-paid Niners for the 2025 season, at least not in terms of a salary cap hit, which, just to be clear, is the figure we'll be using for each player to construct this list. For those wondering, Purdy currently ranks seventh, his cap number for the '25 campaign sitting at $9,119,253.

Also not included in the top five is running back Christian McCaffrey, who sits one slot behind Purdy in eighth with a 2025 cap figure of $8,369,119.

Now, let's have a look at those who did crack the top five.

Trent Williams, LT, $21,141,955

Eleven-time Pro Bowl left tackle Trent Williams will be the 49ers' highest-paid player in 2025, with his cap number set at $21,141,955.

Williams, who missed San Francisco's final seven games in 2024 with an ankle injury, is currently in the second season of the restructured three-year, $82.66 million deal he signed last September.

He has only a $1.255 million base salary in 2025 but will receive $14,609,002 as a signing bonus, another $4,736,777 as a prorated bonus, a $441,176 game bonus, and a $100,000 workout bonus.

Nick Bosa, DE, $20,430,870

Defensive end Nick Bosa is set to play the 2025 campaign on the second season of the five-year, $170 million extension he signed in September 2023.

The 2022 Defensive Player of the Year holds a cap hit of $20,430,870 this season, but it jumps significantly in 2026, more than doubling to $42,029,106. And it gets even bigger in 2027 at $52,028,106 before dropping back down to $42,849,106 in 2028.

As far as this season is concerned, Bosa will earn $1.17 million in base salary, a $10 million signing bonus, and $9,260,870 in additional bonuses.

Fred Warner, LB, $16,058,000

Inside linebacker Fred Warner was actually supposed to have the biggest cap hit for the Niners in 2025 at more than $29 million before signing a three-year, $63 million extension on May 19.

As such, the four-time First-Team All-Pro will now count $16.058 million against the cap, collecting $1.255 million in base salary, a $5.743 million signing bonus, $5.924 million in restructure proration, a $500,000 game bonus, a $2.536 million prorated option, and a $100,000 workout bonus.

Warner is currently under contract with the 49ers through the 2029 season.

George Kittle, TE, $14,211,842

While George Kittle is technically the highest-paid player in the league at his position, with the average annual value of the four-year extension he signed back in April sitting at $19.1 million, that contract doesn't kick in until next year.

For now, his $14,211,842 cap hit for the 2025 season ranks just sixth among all NFL tight ends and ranks fourth for San Francisco from an overall standpoint.

The six-time Pro Bowler will earn a $1.255 million base salary this year and will also receive a $3.629 million signing bonus, $6.675 million in restructure proration, a $441,676 game bonus, and a $450,000 prorated option.

Brandon Aiyuk, WR, $9,917,105

Wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk will play the 2025 campaign on the first season of the four-year, $120 million deal he inked last August, which the Niners backloaded something fierce, as he'll count more than $41 million against the cap in 2027 and more than $43 million in 2028.

The first two seasons are much more manageable, and this year is easily the most team-friendly, as Aiyuk's 2025 cap number is just $9,917,105, which consists of $1.171 million in base salary, a $3,767,281 signing bonus, a $308,824 game bonus, a $4.571 million prorated option, and a $100,000 workout bonus.

Aiyuk appeared in just seven games in 2024, missing the final 10 after suffering a torn ACL and MCL in his right knee.
