Chelsea have reignited their interest in Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho, according to reports.
Following the arrival of Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund, it was assumed that the Blues had sufficiently strengthened their options out wide.
However, Noni Madueke‘s imminent move to Arsenal has changed the club’s stance, and TBRFootball claim that Enzo Maresca’s side are actively looking at purchasing Garnacho once again.
There is believed to have been “recent contact” with the Argentinian international’s entourage, suggesting a bid is still on the cards.
Chelsea do have room for another winger
While Madueke ostensibly favours the right flank, Maresca already has enough cover in that position, with Estevao set to challenge Pedro Neto for his place on that side of the pitch.

Gittens’ arrival does reinforce the club’s options on the left, but with Mykhailo Mudryk suspended and Joao Pedro thriving as a centre-forward, it does open the door for a player like Garnacho to be brought in.
Of course, a lot will depend on the asking price. Up until now, United have reportedly been holding out for £70m but they are likely to lower their demands as we get closer to the end of the transfer window. TBRFootball suggests that an offer in the region of £40m may be accepted.
Garnacho wants to stay in the Premier League
The Argentinian international has recently rejected a proposal from Saudi Arabia. An approach was made by Al-Nassr, but the 21-year-old is keen to stay in Europe and, more specifically, in England.
There are not many teams in the Premier League looking for a winger of Garnacho’s profile. Tottenham were keen but they have now snapped up Mohammed Kudus from West Ham. Aston Villa are reportedly interested but they would need to offload someone first.
That means Chelsea should get a clear run if they make a bid for Garnacho over the coming days and weeks.
