Cherries begin pre-season today - here's all the details on their plans

Hibernian make the trip down from Edinburgh to the Cherries’ new performance centre to meet Andoni Iraola’s side, kicking off at 12pm.

This, along with Bournemouth’s second friendly against Bristol City, is behind closed doors, with fans unable to watch the game.

But it is the first opportunity for Iraola to see his new signings, assess those who have returned and take a look at his players which starred last season.

In particular, left back Adrien Truffert could be in line for his first outing in a Cherries shirt, since he joined the club from Rennes ahead of the departure of Milos Kerkez to Liverpool.

Up next for Iraola’s men is another behind closed doors friendly against Bristol City, at 1pm on Saturday, July 19.

Antoine Semenyo, who signed a new deal with the Cherries this summer, will likely face his former club after he represented the Robins at youth and first team level, before signing for Bournemouth.

That friendly is the final game for the Cherries before they head to the United States of America for the Premier League Summer Series.

The team will fly out to the States in the week leading up to their opening fixture in the competition, which sees them play Everton at the MetLife Stadium.

That game takes place on Saturday, July 26, kicking off at 9pm, UK time, with each round a double header.

The Cherries will then hold an open training session at the University of Illinois Chicago on Sunday, July 27 at 5pm for fans.

Next, the Cherries face Ruben Amorim’s Man United at Soldier Field on Wednesday, July 30 in the States, but kicking off at 2.30am on the morning of Thursday, July 31, UK time.

Finally, the Cherries face Graham Potter’s Hammers at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, on Sunday, August 3 at 7pm.

All Summer Series games will be broadcast on Sky Sports in the UK.

Another behind closed doors match against Real Sociedad B takes place on the morning of Saturday, August 9, before the Cherries face the first team at 5.15pm at the Vitality Stadium.

Those will be the last minutes in the legs for Iraola’s team before they head to Anfield to face Liverpool on the opening day of the season on Friday, August 15.
