Man United handed major Benjamin Sesko transfer boost as 'no-brainer' deal discussed

Benjamin Sesko

Benjamin Sesko of RB Leipzig has reportedly been 'offered' to Premier League clubs

Manchester United are still working on a deal to sign Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford.

After securing the £62.5 million signing of from Wolves earlier in the window, have been quiet in recent weeks. before flying out to the United States on July 22.

Before that, the Reds will face in Sweden on July 19. Following any move for Mbeumo, the plan is to bring in a striker - ideally sooner rather than later, to give the player time to settle into the squad.

With that said, United have potentially been given a boost in their pursuit to sign an attacker. Here, MEN Sport takes a look at the latest United transfer headlines.

Benjamin Sesko 'offered'

Benjamin Sesko's agents have been active in talks with several Premier League clubs, as Arsenal close in on a move for Viktor Gyokeres. According to Sesko's representatives have been in contact with United, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Newcastle United.

Arsenal's decision to pursue Gyokeres appears to have opened the door for other clubs to target the Slovenia international. However, RB Leipzig remain tough negotiators, having previously refused to lower their €90million (£78m) asking price.

MEN Sport says: Well, who saw this coming? At one point, Sesko looked destined for Arsenal, but if reports are accurate, this could be a major boost for United in their search for a new striker. That said, they still face stiff competition from Premier League rivals.

Newcastle may opt out as they continue to pursue Hugo Ekitike, while Chelsea - having already brought in Liam Delap and Joao Pedro - might not be in the market for another forward. Meanwhile, Liverpool could re-enter the striker market, especially with growing interest in Darwin Nunez. This is one saga that could run right up until the final days of the window.

Antony could return to Betis

United have reportedly lowered their asking price for Antony. According to , the new fee is around £30.3m, down from £43.3m.

Real Betis, where Antony spent last season on loan, are interested in re-signing the Brazilian. The report adds that the La Liga club plan to structure the payment due to ongoing financial difficulties.

Antony, for his part, is believed to be keen on a return to the Estadio Benito Villamarín and is reportedly willing to accept reduced wages.

MEN Sport says: This decision makes sense, in my opinion. Given that United must raise funds before making further signings, lowering Antony's asking price could help facilitate a sale.

Previous reports have suggested that Real Betis would struggle to meet United’s financial demands for the Brazilian, but the reduced fee may now make a deal possible. Antony has already expressed his desire to return to the La Liga side - it feels like a no-brainer.
