'They look': How Yerson Mosquera and Sasa Kalajdzic got on in Wolves training yesterday -…

The Wolves players are being put through their paces during their training camp out in Portugal.

Vitor Pereira is overseeing his first pre-season and casting his eye over the players, with around five weeks to go until the 2025/26 season starts.

There is just one new face in the group up to now, with Fer Lopez having joined Wolves around a month ago from Celta Vigo.

But Jhon Arias is set to sign for Wolves, after an agreement was reached for his transfer from Fluminense.

Pereira will no doubt hope that a few more will follow the Colombian.

Today, journalists Liam Keen and Nathan Judah reported from a training session that Wolves did – and an update was provided on Yerson Mosquera and Sasa Kalajdzic.

Mosquera and Kalajdzic were the first players back at Compton this summer, returning about a week before the rest of the group.

Mosquera suffered ACL and MCL damage back in September in a Premier League game against Aston Villa, while Kalajdzic sustained another ACL injury while playing for Eintracht Frankfurt in February 2024.

There are high hopes that both players can get back to their best level again.

And according to Liam Keen, in a vlog for the E&S, the pair were both fully involved in the training session Wolves had on Monday.

Keen said: “Both of them fully involved in this full session today! Full session, there was not any part of that session they didn’t take part in, from what we could see. That is, attacking drills, full length pitch drills. A very interesting four-goal mini drill they did.

“Set-pieces and everything as well, they were involved in all of it. We knew they were getting back and getting fit, they were back in training a little bit towards the end of last season.

“But to see them here and involved, obviously you don’t quite know what’s going on their minds, but at least from the outside looking in, mentally they look like they’re in good condition as well as physically.

“They’re not sort of stepping out of tackles or being too tentative. They’re both getting fully involved. Also, Mosquera was doing some extra running with one of the coaches at the very end of the session.”

Mosquera and Kalajdzic are fighting for squad places at Wolves

It is good to hear that both Mosquera and Kalajdzic both had a heavy involvement in training on Monday and they are both well on the way back to full fitness.

They are two very popular players at Wolves in terms of their personalities, and both have been extremely unlucky with how their careers at Molineux have gone so far.

These next few weeks are very important for them.

Pereira is casting his eye over the players, and trying to determine who is worth keeping around and who should be moved on.

Pereira has previously praised Mosquera and talked up his character, so one would imagine he perhaps has a decent chance of sticking around.

It is a little less clear cut with Kalajdzic, whose latest ACL injury was the third of his career.

Kalajdzic has been tipped to leave Wolves on loan, but if he can make a big impression in the coming weeks, it would be brilliant to see him stick around and enjoy a redemption arc.
