Leeds United have been given a boost in their pursuit of Getafe midfielder Christantus Uche.
The Whites are looking for top-quality additions to help in their push for Premier League survival, and the 22-year-old fits the bill.
The Nigerian star notched four goals and six assists in La Liga last season and could help Daniel Farke‘s side achieve their goals of staying in the top flight.
It would put serious question marks over the future of Brenden Aaronson, if the attacking midfielder was signed.

Leeds have been linked with Uche for a considerable period, but are yet to firm up their interest, however, that could be set to change.

A report from AS (page 10, 15 July) claims that Uche did not travel to Valencia with the rest of the squad for their pre-season trip.
It states that he has been given permission to miss out to seal a move to the Premier League with Leeds, Wolves and Brighton chasing his signature.

Uche would be a great signing for Leeds
The Whites are in desperate need of a new number 10, if they are to have any chance of staying up, and Uche would be a great option.
At just 22, there is plenty of room for him to grow into an even better player under Farke’s tutelage, and Aaronson has already proven that he is not good enough for the top division.

Uche’s stats last season
The American notched just one goal and three assists in his last spell at the elite level and his performance in the Championship last season does not suggest those numbers will improve.
Farke’s side have been linked with the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Emiliano Buendia, but Uche represents a better option as he is much younger with a much higher potential.
If he was signed, there would still be significant work to be done in the transfer market, as a goalkeeper and striker are still needed at a very minimum.
However, it would be a very good addition for the LS11 outfit, if they could beat their rivals to his signature.
