Crystal Palace are weighing up whether to let Jesurun Rak-Sakyi join Rangers on loan or hold out for a permanent deal amid interest from elsewhere.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed what sources have told him about the 22-year-old’s future at Selhurst Park amid intense speculation.

Recent reports have claimed Wolves are the latest club to join the race for the former Sheffield United loanee, which could make agreeing a deal difficult for Rangers.

This comes after former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider on 8 July that Rangers are considering signing Rak-Sakyi on loan.

However, the Eagles are keen to cash in on their academy product with a price tag of £8-10million already placed on the winger this summer.

Brown told Football Insider that Southampton are considering opening talks with Crystal Palace and are keen to give him a second opportunity in the Championship.

Crystal Palace to make Jesurun Rak-Sakyi transfer decision

Football Insider revealed on 13 July that Russell Martin is pushing to sign Rak-Sakyi having previously tried to sign him for both Swansea and Southampton.

However, they are unlikely to be able to fund a permanent deal, particularly with a number of other clubs lining up offers for the Crystal Palace winger.

O’Rourke explained that Palace will make the final decision about Rak-Sakyi’s future, and he could yet stay at Selhurst Park amid speculation about other key players.

“I don’t think Rangers can afford to sign Rak-Sakyi on a permanent basis,” he told Football Insider.

“You’re probably looking at around £8-10million for Rak-Sakyi and he’s on decent wages as well at Palace, so a loan move would be more likely.

“Whether Palace are willing to do that remains to be seen.

“He’s still got two years left on his contract at Palace.

“Depending on what happens with players potentially leaving, the likes of Eze being linked with moves away, that could open the door for him to play a bigger role.

“Having been loaned out to Sheffield United last season, Palace are looking to cash in on him.

“They’ll be open to discussions about a potential exit for Rak-Sakyi.

“I don’t think Rangers can get close to a permanent deal, but other clubs are looking at him as well.

Eberechi Eze update emerges as Arsenal talks accelerate

Rak-Sakyi is not the only forward being linked with a move away from Crystal Palace this summer, as Arsenal remain keen on signing Eberechi Eze.

Football Insider revealed on 13 July that Arsenal are prepared to meet Eze’s release clause if they can reach an agreement over the payment structure.

While Oliver Glasner’s side are reluctant to let Eze leave, the two clubs are continuing in negotiations as Arsenal are unable to pay the full £68million up front.

Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed on 14 July that Eze is keen to join Arsenal to play Champions League football and compete for regular silverware.
