Player says goodbye to club before completing Arsenal move – Gunners medical tomorrow

On Monday, we covered claims from Spain which stated Valencia have accepted Arsenal’s improved offer of around €20m for Cristhian Mosquera. It was also reported he was set to fly to London to carry out medical tests and other transfer formalities.

Later that day, the centre-back spoke to the local media and Las Provincias have relayed his comments.

The 21-year-old was part of Los Ches’ youth system and was promoted to their first team in 2021. Ahead of his move to Arsenal, Mosquera admitted he’s said to leave the Spanish club.

“Valencia is my home and it always will be. I arrived when I was 12 and I’m leaving as a grown man. I’m a little sad because I’ve spent my whole life here. Decisions in football are like that. Now a new era begins. It’s exciting, but I’m leaving sad,” he said.

Las Provincias report the Spain U21 international ‘will board a flight to London in the next few hours’ to carry out medical tests with the Gunners.

Tuesday’s edition of AS have also relayed comments made by the defender before leaving Valencia for Arsenal.

It’s claimed Mikel Arteta’s side are paying €15m plus €5m bonuses for the Spaniard, to reach the €20m price set by Valencia owner Peter Lim.

The newspaper states he has ‘already packed his bags’ to go to London, where his Arsenal medical is scheduled for tomorrow.
