Nottingham Forest are facing a bit of a saga when it comes to Morgan Gibbs-White.
Tottenham made contact for Gibbs-White last week, with talks of there being a £60 million release clause in the player’s contract.
Yesterday, Forest reported Tottenham to the powers that be regarding an alleged illegal approach.
As a result, a saga looks like being on the cards with Evangelos Marinakis not keen to take this one lightly.
Anthony Elanga has joined Newcastle this summer and with that in mind, it would be a huge blow to lose another important player now.

Simon Jordan has sympathy over Nottingham Forest situation
Although a release clause essentially means that Forest have to accept any bids that match that valuation, nobody knows the terms of it.
Clearly, Forest feel as though they have a leg to stand on when it comes to making a complaint about Tottenham and it will now be intriguing to see what happens.
Simon Jordan believes that Forest have got a leg to stand on based on the fact that nobody knows what has happened with regards to the negotiations behind closed doors.

He said on TalkSPORT: “First of all, it depends on the construct of the agreement; each agreement is unique, it doesn’t give you a god given right to just do what you want.
“We understand there is a release clause in the contract, but we don’t understand the caveats, so now we get permission to talk to the player.
“That’s not how it works; you still need to have a degree of consultation and agreement with the selling club. It depends on the conditions of it, there could be a caveat that says the club can still withhold their permission and not unreasonably withhold it.”
Forest need quick resolution to Gibbs-White situation
Although this already feels like a bit of a saga, Forest need to get things sorted once and for all with Gibbs-White.
Ultimately, if Forest’s number 10 isn’t going to sign a new contract with the football club, this summer feels like the time to offload him and cash in.
Jordan is right though. Tottenham have clearly done something a little bit untoward when it comes to trying to unsettle the player and it will be intriguing to see how things progress from here.
Forest have to get busy in terms of recruitment but first, the club have to get this Gibbs-White situation ironed out once and for all.
