Manchester United are pushing to sign Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo while the Bees face speculation over investment into the club

Man United remain in talks over a deal to sign Bryan Mbeumo.
Brentford owner Matthew Benham is reportedly selling a sizeable stake in the club as Manchester United continue to pursue Bryan Mbeumo. The Bees are said to be in talks with a businessman and filmmaker in a huge deal that could be worth over £400million.
Ruben Amorim's side are continuing to chase the Cameroon international as the United head coach looks to upgrade his attacking options. Already, United have had two bids rejected by the London club despite Mbeumo making it clear that his preference is an Old Trafford move.
Negotiations remain ongoing despite the deal being close for almost three weeks. United fly to the United States as part of their pre-season tour and the Manchester Evening News reported on Monday that the club are facing a race against time to acquire the forward in time to be on the plane for their three matches in preparation for the new Premier League season.
Meanwhile, in the capital, the 25-year-old joined up with his Brentford teammates as they move into week two of their own preparations.
There has been plenty of change behind the scenes during Mbeumo's time in the off-season. Brentford head coach Thomas Frank left the club to take up the post at Tottenham Hotspur as Keith Andrews was named as his successor.
Yesterday, Sky News reported that an agreement is close to being announced with Benham offloading a chunk of his stake within the club to Gary Lubner, the businessman who ran Autoglass-owner Belron.
Hollywood film-maker and the man behind Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Brrels, Matthew Vaughn, is also reportedly expect to invest in the Bees as part of the deal.
Sky News say a deal may be announced as early as Tuesday with one insider speculating that as much as 25 percent of the club will change hands.
It remains to be seen what impact the change will have on the deal involving United and Mbeumo. However, chiefs in West London are seemingly calm despite the increasing interest in their star forward.
"There is significant interest in Bryan. His current preference has been well publicised," said director of football Phil Giles.
"He had an unbelievable season, and we expected interest in him.
"From what I understand, he is also, if needs be, happy to stay at Brentford next year as well. We've spoken to Bryan and his representatives.
"It's not a given that he's going to depart this summer. If we get the right offer, there is the potential for a deal to be done, but there is only so much we can say now on that."
