Real Madrid’s Rodrygo is on the front page of today’s Mundo Deportivo as he’s a ‘clear target’ for Liverpool.
Barcelona are hopeful the forward will end up at Anfield so that they can sign Liverpool’s Luis Díaz this summer.
The La Liga winners are keen on signing the 28-year-old Colombia international, who has publicly said he’s in talks with other clubs. Liverpool, however, aren’t showing any sign of weakness.
Mundo states Díaz is determined to leave the Reds and despite standing firm, the club have identified a few attacking targets. This is where Rodrygo comes into the picture and it’s believed can be a good replacement for Díaz as he can also operate on both wings.
The 24-year-old isn’t part of Xabi Alonso’s core plans at Real Madrid and an exit is possible, Liverpool are said to have ‘set their sights’ on him.
Rodrygo’s contract lasts until 2028, while Díaz’s contract expires in 2027.
The newspaper states both are valued between €60-80m, and Barcelona believe Liverpool will need money to sign the Brazil international and can get it by selling Díaz.
Therefore, the report states, ‘one deal could be the key to making the other a reality’, whether that’s actually the case remains to be seen.
