West Ham are chasing Liverpool star Tyler Morton this summer.
The 22-year-old was a key part of England’s Under-21 European Championship success and that has led Graham Potter‘s side to take notice.
Morton was restricted to just five appearances in all competitions for the Premier League champions last season and could seek an exit as a result.
The Hammers could capitalise on Arne Slot’s reluctance to trust the academy graduate, who was rated highly by Jurgen Klopp.

The Hammers are said to be eyeing a double swoop for Morton and his Anfield teammate Harvey Elliott.

Iconic commentator Ian Darke believes that the London Stadium would be a solid move for Morton’s career.
Speaking to Liverpool News (15 July), he said: “I think it would be a really good move for him, he starred in that England Under-21 triumph, didn’t he, and I think he showed there that he is ready to be in someone’s first team.
“Obviously, it is not going to be Liverpool’s, whether it is a loan move or a permanent move, I would have thought he would be delighted if he could be part of the first team set-up at another club in the Premier League.
“Liverpool would probably want to get some money through the door for him at this point, unless they thought in two years with a couple of Premier League loans, he might be a first-team player, but I don’t think that is the case.”
Morton would be a great signing for West Ham
Potter is crying out for pace and dynamism throughout his team, but the engine room is of particular concern.
The likes of Edson Alvarez and Guido Rodriguez are on the chopping block, and that could leave a gap for Morton to slot right into.
The Reds ace could star for Potter, as he possesses the technical ability that he needs on the ball and defensive acumen off it, which he has shown for his country and in limited appearances for his club.
He could establish himself as a star in East London, but he has not been given the chance on Merseyside due to the embarrassment of riches that Slot has at his disposal in midfield.
Klopp once claimed that Morton had an “outstanding football brain” [TNT Sports], but it seems like Slot does not feel the same, and that could be a blessing for the Hammers, who could swoop in and pick him up in a bargain deal.
The Irons can offer the young maestro the chance to become a star in the top-flight with regular minutes, something which the L4 outfit cannot right now.
The E20 side may need to speed up their pursuit, though, as they are likely not to be the only party interested in the former Hull City and Blackburn Rovers loanee.
