Leeds United supporters’ opinion of Jack Harrison has drastically changed over recent years.

Harrison was once highly regarded at Elland Road, despite being a frustrating watch at times.

The winger played an important role in Leeds’ promotion to the Premier League under Marcelo Bielsa and the subsequent seasons that followed in the top-flight.

However, after the Whites‘ relegation and Harrison’s choice to spend the last two seasons on loan at Everton, he has fallen out of favour amongst the Leeds faithful.

Harrison’s future should be away from Leeds after recent footage

Following his most recent loan spell away, Harrison has returned to Leeds, with Daniel Farke set to decide the 28-year-old’s future.

For the German manager, this decision should be a simple one, with anything other than a sale showing a complete lack of ambition from Leeds and the 49ers.

Whilst at Everton, Harrison has been unable to capture the same form he displayed at times in LS11 and arguably returns to Leeds as the worst of the wingers Farke already has at his disposal.

The winger is coming off a disappointing season in Merseyside, scoring just a single goal across his 34 Premier League appearances.

The winger has had poor output since moving to Merseyside.

Recent footage posted by Leeds on their YouTube channel (14 July) depicted Harrison taking part in the squad’s pre-season training at Thorp Arch, much to the dismay of supporters.

Allowing Harrison to train with the team is already a mistake from Farke.

Harrison made it clear in the past that he no longer wants to play for Leeds, with a controversial video from one of his family members showing they also share this sentiment.

Just because Leeds are back in the Premier League, Harrison should not be allowed to change his tune now, with Largie Ramazani, Willy Gnonto and Dan James all ahead of him in the pecking order anyway, and that’s without further signings.

Harrison is an unnecessary distraction at Leeds

United have a monumental task ahead of them next season to stay in the Premier League and can’t afford to have any distractions.

If Harrison were to stay, the atmosphere at Elland Road could quickly turn toxic when Farke’s side would require the exact opposite.

The winger does not improve Leeds’ squad in any way, shape or form currently, and the Whites have to set their ambitions higher if they want to stay in the top-flight.

If Farke used Harrison next season and Leeds were ultimately relegated, the club would only have itself to blame when he ultimately tries to force a move away, as he has done so on two previous occasions.

Adding Harrison to the list of players Leeds must simply sell this summer seems like the wisest decision for both parties, as supporters look forward to putting the fiasco in the rear-view mirror.
