On Monday, Cope and others in Spain reported Arsenal and Valencia have come to an agreement for Cristhian Mosquera. It was stated the defender is set to move to the Gunners after rejecting his delayed renewal offer from Valencia.
The 21-year-old’s contract with the Spanish club expires in June of next year and that’s put them under a great deal of pressure to negotiate, especially after their botched attempts to secure a renewal.
Depending on which report one chooses to believes, Arsenal were set to spend around €20m, €22m or €15m plus a potential €5m in bonus payments. It was claimed the youngster was set to fly to London imminently and complete a move to the Gunners.
That claim was clearly accurate, with El Chiringuito having a video of a rather uncomfortable looking Mosquera at the airport and going through the motions before he gets his flight to London.
Arsenal can then complete the formalities of the move and conclude a transfer which should perhaps be getting more attention as a good piece of business.
