Arsenal are still interested in a deal to sign Real Madrid star Rodrygo as Mikel Arteta eyes further improvements to his squad.
That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that the 24-year-old could be allowed to leave the Bernabeu this summer.
The Gunners’ interest is not believed to have been affected by the imminent arrival of Noni Madueke after Arsenal agreed a deal to sign the Chelsea winger.
Football Insider revealed on 13 May that Real Madrid will demand £85million for Rodrygo which could force the Gunners to look elsewhere in the market.
Despite that, and as the window drags on, there is a growing feeling that the Brazil star could be allowed to leave Los Blancos as Xabi Alonso looks to head in a new direction.
However, Arsenal are not expected to be alone in their pursuit as Brown told Football Insider Liverpool want to sign Rodrygo and have been keeping tabs on his situation.

Arsenal keeping tabs on Rodrygo after Real Madrid latest
Football Insider revealed on 13 June that Arsenal could miss out on Rodrygo as he was expected to remain at Madrid beyond the summer transfer window.
However, Brown, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, explained that the forward’s situation may have changed following the Club World Cup.
“Arsenal are in a situation now where they have to be winning things,” he told Football Insider.
“That’s the step they’re trying to make in the transfer window and the reason they seem to be making progress on a number of different deals.
“They want to upgrade on the players who they think are not quite enough to make them title winners.
“Gabriel Martinelli is one of those, and it’s no secret they’re looking to bring in wingers.
“Madueke seems to be coming in, but I don’t think that will put an end to their deals.
“They’ve been keeping a close eye on Rodrygo’s situation at Real Madrid, and that’s a deal they feel would work for all parties.
“It became apparent at the Club World Cup that he isn’t in their starting XI plans because he was coming off the bench in most of those games.
“If Arsenal feel they can offer him regular football, then that’s a move he could be tempted to make.
“This is where their scouting will come in handy, because they’ll decide whether he’s the right player to come straight into their team and make a difference.
*“A lot might depend on what Real Madrid are asking for him because it might be big money.*“

Eberechi Eze deal accelerates as Crystal Palace stance revealed
Alongside the potential addition of Rodrygo, the Gunners are attempting to make headway in their pursuit of Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze.
Football Insider revealed on 13 July that Arsenal are prepared to meet Eze’s release clause if they cab reach an agreement over the payment structure.
While Oliver Glasner’s side are reluctant to let him leave, the two clubs are continuing in negotiations as Arsenal are unable to pay the full £68million up front.
Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed on 14 July that Eze wants to join Arsenal as he is keen to play Champions League football and win regular silverware.
