Arsenal&Man United Target Hints at PL Comeback

Arsenal and Man United target fuels Premier League return speculation. Viktor Gyokeres’ latest comments have sparked fresh talk about a summer move to England.

Top Clubs Set Sights on In-Form Striker

Arsenal and Man United are in search of firepower up front after tough campaigns in the 2024/25 season.

The Gunners made two strong finishes in previous years. Although, they ended the season ten points behind champions Liverpool. Their inability to make the most of Manchester City’s issues without key man Rodri proved costly.

Meanwhile, Utd had a season to forget. Erik ten Hag exited in November and even new manager Ruben Amorim couldn’t save the Red Devils. They ended the campaign in a terrible 15th place whilst being runners-up to Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final.

Both clubs are looking to bounce back in 2025/26. So, one name has came up as a shared transfer target, Viktor Gyokeres.

Arsenal & United Target Gyokeres Opens Door to England Return

In an interview with L’Equipe, the Swedish striker spoke about returning to play in England.

He was last with Brighton & Hove Albion before he left to Portugal. There he never made a PL appearance. He did feature in cup competitions, scoring once in four games. But, he never got the league breakthrough he hoped for.

Since then, he’s climbed the ladder with spells at Swansea and Coventry. Then, he eventually landed at Sporting where he has become a goal machine. Interest has been rising from Arsenal and United who are weighing other attacking options including Noni Madueke and Bryan Mbuemo.

The Swede’s desire for a second spell in England makes him a strong option for a summer move. Whether that move is to the Emirates or Old Trafford remains to be seen. But, the PL may just be set to welcome back a top version of the striker that is much improved from the one that slipped through.
