Newcastle United's move for Hugo Ekitike is the talk of the European football circuit right now.
The 23-year-old star has courted headlines in his home country France and in Germany with the Eintracht Frankfurt looking likely to leave the Bundesliga this summer.
As excitement grows on Tyneside, the true reality is now whether Newcastle can strike a deal and get the numbers right with the German side, while also hoping that rivals won't react and attempt to gazump them now that the word is out on the ex-Paris St-Germain player.

The German tabloid say that Newcastle United have made their approach for Ekitike and want to sign him the player for the third time. They say that Frankfurt have learned the terms of the transfer and that they are braced for the first official offer for the 23-year-old from the Magpies.
Bild also suggests that Manchester United and Liverpool are also in the chase for the star.
Sky Germany
The round the clock football service on the Bundesliga is impressive and viewers in Germany are noting that "concrete talks" took place between Newcastle and Frankfurt on Ekitike.
Frankfurt are ready to sell if the price is right but they, like Bild, warn that Liverpool and Man United are keen.

One of the most famous football magazines in the world say that Ekitike's future is "uncertain" with Frankfurt. Kicker's sources say that Ekitike has been totally open about his future in Germany and could leave.
Frankfurter Rundschau
The daily newspaper in Frankfurt poses the question: How much longer will Hugo Ekitike be an Eintracht Frankfurt player?
They report: "The transfer spree surrounding Eintracht Frankfurt's star striker is rapidly gaining momentum.
"After a rather quiet summer, the situation surrounding French attacker Hugo Ekitike is suddenly heating up again – and Newcastle United appears ready to get serious.
"Negotiations between Newcastle and the player are apparently progressing, while Frankfurt are said to be insisting on their demand of up to €100 million. However, this astronomical sum doesn't seem to be a deterrent - on the contrary: Newcastle has signalled that they are quite willing to meet this demand."
