Former Steelers wide receiver explains why he signed with his new team: ‘It comes around full…

Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Steven Sims found himself a new team this offseason after going from the Houston Texans to the Baltimore Ravens last season.

The Seattle Seahawks inked Sims in March, giving him another shot to make an NFL team as Sims continues to claw his way onto rosters around the NFL as a dynamic returner and slot wide receiver.

As for how he landed with the Seahawks, Sims talked about his resiliency in the NFL, and how that specific door opened up for him.

*"*It comes around full circle," Sims said to KPRC 2. “You know, you put the work in every day. You just dedicate yourself to the game, you work hard every day. Doors will open up. You know, it’s always somebody watching. Like I tell the guys, it is an interview for all 32 teams every time you step out on the field. So, that’s what I want to do. I go out and try to put my best foot forward, show and display my talents, and you know let everything else handle itself. Now we’re in Seattle, can’t wait to bring big explosive plays and things to Seattle and we’re going to have fun this year.“

Sims played in seven games but did not record a reception. He has seven kick returns for 195 yards and 16 punt returns for 99 yards. Sims added one rush for zero yards to his offensive numbers.

Sims broke into the NFL out of Kansas and earned his way onto the Washington Commanders ‘roster. However, the Steelers picked him up after that, and Sims was the team’s returner and slot receiver in the 2022 season.

Yet, they let him walk in the offseason, and Sims joined the Texans. He has been with the team since that time. Over his career, Sims has over 1700 return yards and added 78 receptions for 784 yards with seven total touchdowns.
