Leeds United, Sunderland and Manchester United are keen on Royal Antwerp goalkeeper Senne Lammens, according to Tuesday’s edition of Gazet van Antwerpen.
The 23-year-old impressed for the Jupiler Pro League side last season, but that didn’t stop them from signing another stopper, Taishi Brandon Nozawa.
Royal Antwerp sporting director Marc Overmars made it clear during a recent interview that Lammens has to leave this summer.
“The transfer of Senne Lammens has to happen, because we’ve already signed his replacement. We’d rather not see a Butez-Lammens scenario again. Senne is our most sought-after player. There are plenty of clubs ready to make a move,” he said.
The report states the goalkeeper has several options, including the Premier League, where Leeds United, Sunderland and Manchester United are in the mix.
Sunderland signed Noah Sadiki and Chemsdine Talbi from Royale Union Saint-Gilloise and Club Brugge respectively and have Lammens on their radar. GVA adds Leeds United are also looking at the Belgian as Illan Meslier wasn’t completely convincing last season.
Manchester United No.1 André Onana had mixed performances and the club have been linked to a few goalkeepers. This incudes the Belgian and the newspaper states the Red Devils have ‘already thoroughly investigated’ Lammens.
According to GVA, Royal Antwerp are looking to collect €20m and this would be affordable for Leeds United, Sunderland and Manchester United. It’s unclear if any of them are planning to make advances to sign him in this window.
