Newcastle and Tottenham are the latest clubs to join the race to sign Liverpool star Harvey Elliott during the summer transfer window.
That is according to former Man United and Sunderland chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that the interested parties will hold talks with the 22-year-old’s representatives.
However, there is no shortage of interest in the midfielder, with Brighton, Fulham, and a number of Bundesliga clubs also keen on his signature.
Football Insider revealed on 2 July that Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig want Elliott and are prepared to rival Premier League outfits in their pursuit.
The England Under-21 star is expected to make a decision about his future later in the window after carefully considering all of his options.
This comes after Brown told Football Insider in March that Elliott is unhappy with his role at Liverpool and is keen to leave in search of more regular first-team football.

Harvey Elliott to leave Liverpool as Newcastle and Spurs join race
Brown told Football Insider on 10 July that Elliott is “certain” to quit Liverpool this summer as the race for his signature continues to accelerate.
The former scout, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, insisted that Spurs and Newcastle are set to hold talks with the player’s agents.
“*There’s no shortage of interest in Harvey Elliott,*” he told Football Insider.
“Newcastle and Tottenham are the latest names I’ve heard, both of them are going to test the waters and see what it would take to bring him in.
“They’ll speak to his agent and find out what he’s asking for and what Liverpool are going to want.
“Both clubs will know what he can do, they’ll know the pros and the cons, and they’ll weigh those up against his price tag before making a move.
“Then he’s got the likes of Brighton and a few clubs in Germany having a look at him too.
“I think he could be an asset to any of those clubs because he’s a very talented player.
“These clubs will have been watching him with England’s Under-21s and after seeing the way he played in that side, they’re now prepared to make a move.
“He doesn’t have much of a place at Liverpool any more, so they’re ready to let him go.
“It could be one that drags on until late in the window, because he’s going to have to consider all of his options before making a final decision.”

Luis Diaz update emerges as new price tag named
Elliott is not the only player being linked with a move away from Anfield this summer, as speculation about Luis Diaz’s future refuses to die down.
Football Insider revealed on 13 July that Diaz is “in negotiations” over leaving Liverpool after failing to make progress in talks over a new contract.
The Colombia international has refused to commit his future to Anfield, with Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Saudi Pro League clubs tracking his situation.
However, Football Insider revealed on 14 July that Liverpool have set a £69million price tag on Diaz, which interested clubs have yet to meet.
