The 33 players selected for Sunderland's Portugal trip - and who has missed out

Sadiki, Talbi and Adingra were not involved in the [Black Cats](http://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/football/sunderland)’ opening pre-season friendly at South Shields last weekend, a game that saw Diarra make his first appearance in a Sunderland shirt.

However, the trio will all be part of the group that heads to the Algarve this week for a warm-weather training break.

They will train with the rest of the first-team squad under the watchful eye of Sunderland’s new-look coaching team, led by head coach Regis Le Bris, and are expected to be involved in the two friendly games the Black Cats will play in Portugal.

Sunderland will take on La Liga outfit Sevilla on Saturday before facing Portuguese side Sporting next Monday.

Reinildo will join up with his new team-mates towards the end of the training break, having been granted an extended break after representing his former club, Atletico Madrid, at the recent Club World Cup in the United States.

A number of  youngsters have been promoted to the first-team group for the Portuguese trip, with Le Bris keen to see how they fare as part of the senior squad.

Jenson Jones, Harrison Jones, Tom Lavery, Trey Ogunsuyi, Matty Young and Timur Tutierov have been named in the squad and will travel to the Algarve.

Ahmed Abdullahi will also make the trip, having scored Sunderland’s final goal in Saturday’s 4-0 win at South Shields, with Milan Aleksic and Nectar Triantis also confirmed as part of the travelling group.

However, a number of fringe players have not been selected and will remain on Wearsie training with the Under-21s.

Abdoullah Ba, Ian Poveda, Nazariy Rusyn and Luis Hemir will not be part of the senior group in Portugal, with Le Bris having confirmed at the weekend that the quartet are all free to leave Sunderland this summer.
