Jack Grealish’s exit from Manchester City is not likely to be confirmed until late in the summer transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.
Grealish, 29, has no long-term future at the Etihad after being left out of Pep Guardiola’s squad for the Club World Cup last month.
Sources say that interested parties will wait until later on in the window to make a move for the England international, as City are expected to lower their asking price.
The winger could be more likely to leave on loan this summer due to his high wages, which are deterring clubs from pursuing a permanent deal.

Guardiola has no faith in Grealish
Towards the end of last season it became abundantly clear that Guardiola had no faith in the former Villa man, instead preferring the likes of Jeremy Doku on the left wing.
Grealish started just seven Premier League games in 2024/25, featuring for just 715 minutes in total across the course of the campaign.

Being omitted from City’s Club World Cup squad seemed to be the final nail in the coffin of his career at the Manchester club.
The likes of Everton and Newcastle have been linked with a move for Grealish, who has also attracted interest from Serie A side Napoli.

‘Man City plan to accept offer for star defender’
Meanwhile, Man City are reportedly prepared to entertain offers for John Stones in the summer transfer window as they plan to cash in on fringe players.
That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who claims that Guardiola is prepared to see the 31-year-old move on before the season begins.
Stones recently shut down suggestions of an exit as he insisted, “I want to stay here” [via the Guardian], but Guardiola is determined to cut down the numbers in his squad.
Brown told Football Insider that Man City will accept offers for Stones as he is no longer a part of the manager’s long-term plans and ambition to revamp his options.
