Report: Nottingham Forest hatch new plan to sign Morgan Gibbs-White’s friend, he’d cost around…

Nottingham Forest are trying desperately to add new players to their squad before the new season gets underway.

Anthony Elanga has signed for Newcastle, while there is a growing consensus that Morgan Gibbs-White will sign for Tottenham.

Igor Jesus has joined Forest this summer alongside Botafogo teammate Jair Cunha, with the two players starring at the Club World Cup.

The need for new players is getting quite urgent now, and today, it appears another link is being touted as a new number one target for Forest.

Nottingham Forest want Aston Villa player Jacob Ramsey

According to The Telegraph, Forest have now named Ramsey as their new number one target, with Villa keen to do a deal to offload the attacker.

It’s claimed that a fee of £30 million could be needed to prise him away from Villa, with the Europa League outfit willing to cash in on the player.

The 24-year-old has been mentioned by England boss Thomas Tuchel after he announced his first squad and moving on would allow him to showcase his talents by playing regular football.

Last season, Ramsey scored four goals and claimed seven assists from 46 appearances in all competitions.

Ramsey is friends with Morgan Gibbs-White

The versatile forward could come in and do a job replacing Gibbs-White if his subsequent move to Tottenham goes through as planned.

Gibbs-White and Ramsey played alongside each other for the England under-21s and during a YouTube video, it emerged that the two are strong mates.

On that basis, it’s a shame that Ramsey and Gibbs-White are unlikely to play alongside each other in the Garibaldi, with the Villa man seemingly lined up as the replacement for the current number 10.

Hopefully, this is one that has some legs and Forest can get a deal to sign Ramsey over the line in anticipation of Gibbs-White moving on from the club.
