Manchester United ready to pay severance package – Offer now stands at just €10m

Last week, La Stampa reported Jadon Sancho is demanding a severance package from Manchester United before potentially moving to Juventus.

The player was said to want around €5m, which would compensate him for agreeing to lower wages at the Turin club. Corriere dello Sport now report Manchester United are so keen to move the 25-year-old on that they’ve now agreed to pay the severance fee to the 25-year-old.

This helps out Juventus, and it’s thought Sancho would then have no problem agreeing wages of €5.5-6m a year with the Italian clubs, almost certainly after tax.

The Manchester United player has given his preference to the Bianconeri and general director Damien Comolli is on the case, even if a final agreement is pending.

The Red Devils are said to have asked for €20m to sell the attacker and Juve’s offer stands at €10m plus potential bonuses of €5m. Whether that works financially for the Premier League side, in terms of writing off the purchase on their accounts, is unclear

Potentially, it’s €10m less the asking price, because it’s obviously far from guaranteed that Sancho will meet the levels required to trigger any bonuses.
