Her football-themed nickname. Maclean is known as 'Ini' to her teammates, a nod to how her style of play is seen as similar to that of Spanish great Andres Iniesta. It was first coined at Rangers and has travelled with her to the Scotland set-up. Explaining the backstory, Maclean recalled: "I think we were on the bus coming back from the Champions League and Kirsty Howat was raging because there's two Kirstys now and she was like, 'I don't want to be the one with the nickname.' I was the one that got the nickname."
An extremely bright prospect. Maclean's talent is highlighted with the individual honours and nominations she has already received in her promising career. She has been up for PFA Scotland Women's Young Player of the Year twice (in 2022-23 and 2023-24). In 2023-24 alone, Maclean was in the running for PFA Players' Player of the Year as well, won Rangers' Player of the Year prize and made it into the Scottish Women's Premier League Team of the Year. She kept her spot in that XI last season.
