Any lingering interest Aston Villa might have had in Loci Bade has been officially ended.
That’s afterpresident of football operationsMonchi spoke to Cadena Ser’s El Larguero on Monday, with his comments picked up by El Desmarque, and addressed the situation.
Villa’s desire to sign the 25-year-old was clear in the January transfer window and got as far as them agreeing a deal with Bade’s club Sevilla.
However, Bade rejected the move to the Premier League, having struggled to make an impact at Nottingham Forest earlier in his career,
In March, Bade said: “I’m happy, and that’s the most important thing for a player.
“I don’t think about money; it’s the project, a full package, and I have everything I need to progress at Sevilla. I have goals at Sevilla and I have no reason to leave.”
Monchi had signed Bade on loan for Sevilla in January 2023, before he joined permanently in June of that year.
However, any chance of the deal being rekindled this summer seems over after Monchi said: “We’re not looking for that type of player. We tried to sign him in the winter transfer window, but right now we’re not at that level of player.”
In the end Villa move for Axel Disasi but will not return to the Chelsea loanee. They are still looking at their options to replace Diego Carlos on a long-term basis after he moved on in January.
