Manchester United-Victor Osimhen Link Collapses

Manchester United fans are afraid that the club’s link with Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen is about to collapse. It appears that Manchester United have not yet finalised any ‘forward’ moves. After the done deal of Matheus Cunha from Wolves, the club hasn’t confirmed any other profile to fit in the squad. Although it is an open secret that Manchester United want to pair Brentford striker Bryan Mbuemo up with Matheus Cunha. But as days are passing by, Mbuemo’s chances of joining the Red devils are fading away as well. The English club are shortlisting other options too. Rasmus Hoijland’s inconsistency in front of goals has forced them to look for another forward. With several names coming up every day, former Napoli striker Victor Osimhen met the criteria of Ruben Amorim. Manchester United hurriedly established a preliminary link with the camp of Victor Osimhen. But the latest transfer updates have suggested that Osimhen has rejected the Red Devils.

Manchester United’s Plan after the Failed Link with Victor Osimhen

Manchester United are sure that Victor Osimhen isn’t joining them. But the club cannot stop their hunt on landing a new forward. The club also hold talks with Swedish footballer Viktor Gyokeres but the player has already said yes to Mikel Arteta’s project. As Gyokeres is headed towards Arsenal, Manchester United enquired about Osimhen’s situation at Galatasaray. The loanee from Napoli returned to his parent club. But the Scudetto Champions don’t want to continue with the striker. Osimhen also settled himself very well at the Turkish club, Galatasaray. But just here Manchester United board hoped to hijack Osimhen out of the blue. But Galatasaray made a better offer and are keen to keep Osimhen as a permanent player. After missing out on another potential target, Manchester United will now try to make the process slow but steady. The board members fear that the rumours on social media have let other clubs know about Manchester’s movement on deals. From now on, the club wants to make things undisclosed as much as possible.

All You Need to Know About Victor Osimhen

Victor Osimhen appeared on the map of European football after having a dream season in Serie A with Napoli. The Nigerian first caught the eyes of big clubs when he was at LOSC Lille. There, he made his mark and later on joined Italian club Napoli. With Lille, he played 27 matches in League1 and scored 13 goals. In the very next season (2020-21), Osimhen began playing in the Serie A. He became a fan favourite at Napoli and led the attack of the club. Victor Osimhen’s clinical football brought the Scudetto back to Naples after years. Osimhen has appeared in 133 matches for Napoli so far. His stats are wild. In 133 games, he has registered 76 goals and 18 assists. In the 2022-23 season, Osimhen became the hot topic in the football world. But nothing great lasts long. Napoli reshaped the title-winning squad of 2022-23. Shockingly, Napoli sent Osimhen to Galatasaray on loan. The club kept faith in the Belgian, Romelu Lukaku. It proved to be a good call from both parties. Napoli didn’t miss Osimhen and won the Scudetto again this season. On the other hand, Galatasaray welcomed the Nigerian goal machine with open arms. In his first spell with the Turkish giants, Osimhen has already run riot. Amid the hypes of Gyokeres, Mbappe and Salah, Osimhen’s unreal stats didn’t get the spotlight. He has bagged 37 goals in 41 matches in the Turkish league. This was more than enough for Galatasaray to snatch away Osimhen.
