Ineos accept£22m defeat at Man United as Jadon Sancho asking price slashed

Manchester United are going to have to accept a staggering loss on Jadon Sancho to sell him this summer.

Ineos thought they had seen the last of Jadon Sancho when a loan deal was struck with Chelsea last summer, but his move to Stamford Bridge collapsed.

Chelsea paid a £5m penalty to return Sancho to Manchester after he refused to accept a significant wage cut to join the London club.

Now it has fallen back into the hands of Ineos to find a new buyer for the 25-year-old winger, but it has so far proven extremely difficult.

Juventus have shown interest in Sancho, but it seems United will have to make sacrifices to get that deal over the line.

Man United drop Jadon Sancho asking price for Juventus

Reports from Italy claim Sancho has held fresh Juventus talks, but United’s asking price is proving to be a stumbling block.

United want £22m (€25m) for Sancho this summer – the same price previously offered to Chelsea – but Juventus are not willing to match it.

Juventus have bid £8.6m + £4.3m for Sancho already, and it seems United are now willing to meet somewhere in the middle.

FootballItalia report that United have “no choice” but to slash their asking price for Sancho after Juventus made it clear they will not pay £22m this summer.

Sancho was signed for £73m by United, so Ineos will have to accept a staggering loss on his sale.

Ruben Amorim will want Jadon Sancho sold quickly

Head coach Ruben Amorim knows that the pressure is on in 2025/26, and he has already made some bold calls.

Five United players were told not to return to training last week, with The Athletic reporting that all players were told they can use Carrington facilities from 5pm onwards when the first-team session is over.

Ineos have backed Amorim over his decision and allowed him to dictate which players are up for sale this summer, but they have let him down when it comes to actually offloading them.

Ideally, Amorim wanted business done before the 2025 tour of the United States this summer, but with just days to go, there has not been a single sale.

There is just over a month to go until United start their season against Arsenal on the opening weekend of the Premier League, and Ineos are under huge pressure to get their transfer business sorted.
