The Browns have several undrafted free agents (UDFAs) who will be competing for spots on this year's roster, but evaluation of the 2025 UDFA class is still ongoing. McMillan and Huntington have already caught attention during minicamp, making them players to watch as training camp progresses. There are several positions that will see intense competition, and it's quite possible that the final 53-man roster for the 2025 Browns will include some players who are not currently reporting to camp in Berea next week.
Cade McDonald, Luke Floriea, and Kisean Johnson, all undrafted free agents, will be competing for a depth position in the Browns' thin wide receiver room. However, the Browns should also be on the lookout for potential cut candidates, including veterans or undrafted free agents from other teams, who could offer an immediate improvement in their wide receiver depth.
The situation is similar for cornerbacks. The Browns have undrafted free agents James and Dom Jones, plus players like Nik Needham, and Anthony Kendall in camp. However, with Greg Newsome and Martin Emerson both entering the final year of their contracts, the Browns must take the search for additional outside cornerback depth seriously. If they find a player that resembles Hailassie from 2023, don't be surprised if they use their second overall waiver priority to acquire a UDFA cornerback they want. It's important for them to keep an eye on the future when it comes to their cornerback position.
The other position to watch may not include a UDFA addition. Still, as the Browns get further into camp, they will need to decide if TE Blake Whiteheart, a UDFA from last season who was waived by the Cardinals and caught on with the Browns' practice squad, is good enough to fill the third tight end role. With David Njoku and Harold Fannin Jr. expected to both play significant roles in the offense, a veteran signing like Jordan Akins, who knows the offense and can do more of what Njoku and Fannin provide, might make the most sense.
