Despite his tall frame, Josko Gvardiol has shown time and again for both Manchester City and Croatia that he can get around the pitch in no time.
With the 23-year-old mostly playing as a left-back during his time at the Etihad Stadium, his pace has often been tested and more often than not, the versatile defender has come out on top.
Aside from Gvardiol, Manchester City have several quick players in their side.
Anthony Elanga pinpointed how rapid Erling Haaland is by naming him as one of the three fastest players in the Premier League alongside himself and Micky van de Ven.
Another City star who comes to mind is Matheus Nunes, who Pep Guardiola considers unstoppable when he is running at full speed during a counter-attacking situation.

Josko Gvardiol names Kyle Walker as the fastest player in football history
Josko Gvardiol would admit that while he is quick, he cannot go toe-to-toe with some of his Sky Blues teammates.

Over the years, Manchester City have had several quick players such as Kyle Walker, Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane.
When quizzed about which player he reckons is the fastest in the history of the game by Sofascore, Gvardiol named now-Burnley right-back Walker, saying: “Speed, you know I’ve seen so many fast players and I think in his prime, Kyle Walker was really one of the fastest.”
Troy Deeney believes Walker remains quick and Gvardiol agrees, adding: “Even now, he’s fast but you can see the speed he had before and the speed he has now. I think he’s the one…”
Kyle Walker was not Man City’s fastest player last season
However, it seems like the 35-year-old is not as fast as he used to be at the peak of his powers.
With both Adama Traore and Timo Werner famously beating Walker for pace last season, Gvardiol is perhaps taking the Manchester City legend’s entire career into consideration with his pick.
The Premier League’s official website revealed the five players who reached the highest sprint speeds from the previous campaign and City’s representative was Nunes in second place.
FASTEST PLAYERS IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE LAST SEASON HIGHEST SPRINT SPEED
MICKY VAN DE VEN 37.1 KM/H
MATHEUS NUNES 36.7 KM/H
BRYAN MBEUMO 36.6 KM/H
YANKUBA MINTEH 36.4 KM/H
ANTHONY ELANGA 36.2 KM/H
Judging solely by his pace, it comes as no surprise that Pep Guardiola would like Nunes to stay at Manchester City next season.
In the past, Walker’s name in such lists would have been a shoo-in.
However, as Gvardiol stated, the veteran remains no slouch and most wingers who come up against him would dread going toe-to-toe with the six-time Premier League winner in a footrace.
