Newcastle United offer rejected on Tuesday morning – Payment terms key

The German media have for months been conducting what has looked like a marketing job on behalf of Eintracht Frankfurt, in an effort to convince the football world that Hugo Ekitiké will cost €100m and not a Euro less.

Not far from half the Premier League have been linked with the Bundesliga player but it’s never felt like any of them were seriously moving forward, and certainly not to pay anything like the €100m Eintracht have been clinging to.

Newcastle United have looked the most interested side, with claims this week of the Magpies seriously moving forward for the 23-year-old.

Florian Plettenberg reports that this morning Eintracht Frankfurt turned down an €80m offer from the Magpies. The Newcastle United bid is said have mainly been rejected due to payment terms.

According to Plettenberg, other clubs have already made it known they’d be ready to pay more, but that could be more hype on behalf of Eintracht Frankfurt.

It sounds like €80m may be enough then, but the package needs to be adjusted on terms.
