After announcing Mike Brown as their new head coach, the New York Knicks are now looking at a couple of profiles who might complete the rotations before the beginning of next season.
The Knicks' roster is almost complete, but the Big Apple franchise still has some salary cap space to utilize in completing its roster with quality additions.
Among the players the Knicks are considering to finalize the rotations there is also Ben Simmons, a former Rookie of the Year in the league.
According to NBA insider Ian Begley, the Knicks have had several contacts with Ben Simmons and his entourage since free agency began, and the lines of communication between the two sides are still open.
After receiving a contract buyout from the Brooklyn Nets in February, Ben Simmons finished last season with the Los Angeles Clippers, averaging 3 points, 3 assists, and 4 rebounds per game in California.
The potential addition of Simmons would give the Knicks a player capable of extending their frontcourt rotations while also providing an additional option as a playmaker in the backcourt, given the Australian player's versatility.
At the minimum salary, Simmons could be a useful addition to Mike Brown's new Knicks, although the New York franchise is still considering other options, such as Landry Shamet.
