Everton find themselves in agent tussle – Offer made as one eyes up commission

Everton appear to have found themselves in the middle of a battle between super agents Pino Zahavi and Jorge Mendes.

That is at least if the current reports in Portugal are anything to go by, with all the major newspapers covering their rejection from Porto’s Francisco Conceição.

[Record explain](http://www.record.pt/) that the battle for the winger’s signature is fully underway as Juventus continue to try and strike a deal with Porto to sign him on a permanent basis.

Jorge Mendes is working to get a deal done and Everton inserted themselves into the mix by offering to pay the €30m release clause outright. The player, though, was not interested and didn’t maintain contact with the Toffees according to his inner circle.

The proposal was brought to Porto by super-agent Pini Zahavi but rejected because Conceição has a different career path in mind.

Record explain in a different piece on the matter that Zahavi’s arrival on the scene is surprising to those involved. The reality, though, is that Mendes has not been given an exclusive mandate to deal with Conceição’s future.

Even though he is Conceição’s agent, others are able to involve themselves and Zahavi would be due to earn a commission from any deal with Everton. Thus, he sent their proposal to Porto but was seemingly rebuffed by the player himself.

Now the matter has become more complicated as Conceição’s release clause has increased to €45m and it remains to be seen what happens as Zahavi and Mendes seemingly battle it out.
