Liverpool have opened talks with Newcastle about a potential move for Alexander Isak this summer.
The Sweden international has been Arne Slot’s dream target ever since it was shared that he’d be looking for a new striker this summer.
Several players have been linked with a move to Anfield this summer, but Isak’s name is the one which seems to have stuck around no matter what.

And now, even though the Magpies were adamant that they weren’t going to sell their star man this summer, a new report has emerged that may change everything.
Newcastle are now open to selling Alexander Isak to Liverpool this summer
As per a report from Sky Sports journalist Sacha Tavolieri, it seems like Newcastle have now changed their stance on the future of Isak after Fabrizio Romano revealed that Liverpool had opened talks with the Magpies.
“Things changed in the minds of Newcastle’s Saudis regarding Alexander Isak,” he wrote.
“Unsellable in June, the Magpies have now opened up the possibility of his departure after having advanced on Hugo Ekitike in recent hours.
“The price? £120 million.”
Liverpool need to throw everything they can at bringing Alexander Isak to Anfield this summer
Even though Liverpool have already spent close to £200million on new arrivals, it’s clear that they have no desire to stop any time soon.
The Reds have already broken their club record fee this summer to bring Florian Wirtz in for £116million, but now Newcastle’s stance has changed on Isak, they could be about to break it again.
There are several players within Liverpool’s squad who Slot and Richard Hughes could look to sell on this summer, with each of Darwin Nunez, Harvey Elliott and Luis Diaz all having potential suitors ready and waiting.

If Isak does somehow end up as a Liverpool player this summer, the 2025-26 transfer window will no doubt be the best that the Reds could have ever hoped for.
In fact, it could arguably be classed as one of the best transfer windows for any team ever.
It’s an exciting time to be a Liverpool fan, and long may it continue.
