Leeds United are now in a position where fans are beginning to get concerned about this window.

Despite four new arrivals at the club, it’s becoming a bit tiresome for Leeds fans, with signings not being announced frequently.

It was expected by the fanbase that funds would be utilised, and with reason, after Paraag Marathe said the ‘very last penny’ would be spent.

But after just £30m spent, it’s now becoming a bit worrying that key areas aren’t being looked at.

Well now, the 49ers have no excuse but to go in for a target who is definitely for sale this summer.

Arsenal legend gives Leeds United green light for Senne Lammens

A goalkeeper is one of these areas that needs addressing badly, but Leeds want to be ‘absolutely sure’ with a new keeper after Illan Meslier’s backlash.

Many targets have come on the radar as Vanja Milinkovic-Savic seemed almost nailed on to arrive at Elland Road.

However, it now appears that Napoli will sign Milinkovic-Savic after Antonio Conte’s side agreed on personal terms.

Nevertheless, a new target is in the pipeline for the Whites as Senne Lammens is of interest to Leeds.

Once again, Sunderland are Daniel Farke’s competition as the 23-year-old Belgian has also garnered interest from Man United after his impressive performances.

Lammens revealed Leeds tried to sign him in 2023, which means the player knows the club well after talks.

Now, what Royal Antwerp Director and Arsenal legend, Marc Overmars, said about the keeper’s future to Belgian journalist, David Van den Broeck, gives interested clubs the chance to strike.

“Many clubs are ready to take action for Senne. He is the most sought-after. And that transfer must happen, because we already brought in his replacement.”

What Lammens said about Man United hands a blow to Leeds

It’s clear the Antwerp number one is a talent, and it’s also clear he’s likely to be sold this summer.

With the Belgian side signing their replacement in Taishi Nozawa, Lammens is bound to exit, as a £17m fee has been talked up by Gazet van Antwerpen.

The Belgian outlet has also revealed the keeper’s true feelings on where he’d like to end up this summer, as Man United’s interest is getting in the way of Leeds.

“The first time I heard (about Manchester United interest), I thought, wow. Immediately, a world (renowned) team that follows you. That is special,” Lammens said.

“Of course, I was also spoken to about it a lot, and when I made a save in training, it was United this, United that… it’s only positive. Especially because it’s the best competition in the world and my profile – my stature and way of playing – is similar to English football. You have to physically hold your own there, and that suits me.”

Although his comments favour Leeds with his style suiting English football, it seems as though an offer from the Manchester side would be too good to turn down.

But this shouldn’t stop Leeds from pursuing a deal, as they would no doubt offer him a guaranteed first place, whereas Ruben Amorim still has Andre Onana as his number one.

Lammens has proven he’s at an elite level and would suit Leeds’ ‘priority’ position of goalkeeper.

Overmars definitely values him highly, which brings reason why a £17m asking price is on the table, but he knows the Belgian is too good for his home country, and the Premier League is calling.
