AC Milan are working behind the scenes to try and sign Rasmus Hojlund from Manchester United, according to a report.
Alvaro Morata, Tammy Abraham and Luka Jovic started the 2024-25 season as Milan’s striker options, then the Spaniard was swapped out for Santiago Gimenez who arrived from Feyenoord during the winter transfer window.
Now, Gimenez remains as the only centre-forward in the squad along with Lorenzo Colombo, who is widely tipped to leave. There have been links to many players from Dusan Vlahovic to Victor Boniface, but a new name has emerged.
Hojlund the Mr.X?
According to SportMediaset, the Rossoneri are reportedly working on Rasmus Hojlund, the Manchester United striker who previously played in Italy for Atalanta.
The Red Devils are close to finalising the purchase of Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford, and therefore could open the door to the departure of one of their strikers, including the Dane, perhaps even via some kind of a loan formula (with option or obligation).
The 22-year-old was actually linked with Milan before he moved to Old Trafford in a big-money deal. Since joining them he has scored 26 goals in 95 games across all competitions, but only netted four times in the Premier League last season.
