Bayern Munich are “preparing a new offer” for Liverpool winger Luis Diaz, according to Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg.
It was confirmed early on Tuesday afternoon that the Reds had rejected the Bundesliga champions’ opening bid worth €67.5m (£58.6m).
However, Plettenberg claims that Bayern are already drawing up a second proposal, with Diaz deemed to be their top target to strengthen the left flank.

Diaz “wants to leave” Anfield
The Athletic initially reported that Liverpool had turned down an offer from Bayern but they also revealed the player’s stance on the transfer.
They claim that Diaz “wants to leave” and that does make things difficult for the Reds. Keeping an unhappy player never ends well so the aim will likely be to get as much as possible from his sale.
It is believed a bid in excess of £80m would be considered but it remains to be seen whether Bayern are willing to go that high.
Who could Liverpool sign as a replacement?
As there were already question marks over Diaz’s future, the Merseysiders have been scouring the market for alternatives. Talks with the representatives of Lyon’s Malick Fofana have reportedly been held but his €60m (£52m) price tag may be regarded as excessive for a player that lacks experience.
Real Madrid’s Rodrygo could also be available, and he would be more expensive than Fofana, but the Brazilian would probably be worth the investment.
If Diaz’s move to Bayern does gather pace over the coming days, it’s likely more left-wingers will be linked with a switch to Anfield.
