Anfernee Simons was recently traded from the Portland Trail Blazers to the Boston Celtics, but some people thought his moves wouldn’t stop there.
Many people assumed the Celtics were going to ship Simons to a third destination, but it sounds like that may not happen.
According to Jake Fischer, per Playoff BOS, the Celtics are “likely not calling teams to trade Anfernee Simons.”
However, they are “actively open” to moving him if a good deal comes to them.
“If not, they would be happy to have him start the season with the team,” according to the report.

Simons averaged 19.3 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 4.8 assists on 42.6 percent for the Blazers last season.
During his seven seasons in Portland, he became an important part of the team and saw his numbers greatly improve.
But there may not be room for him in Boston.
The Celtics received Simons in the Jrue Holiday trade, which was a move to shed salary and gain more spending power.
In other words, they weren’t that keen on having Simons but are happy to see what he can do.
If another team offers something enticing, the Celtics will surely part ways with Simons.
But they might keep him on board, hoping that he can provide support either in the starting five or with the second unit.
Next season will be tricky for the Celtics because they will be without Jayson Tatum.
They need all the help they can get, but can Simons provide it?
Boston is open to a deal for Simons, although they aren’t actively pursuing one.
Where will this 26-year-old star play next season?
