Ilkay Gündoğan’s agent insists the Manchester City player, or anyone representing him, hasn’t been in _‘official’_ transfer talks with any club from the Super Lig.
Gündoğan has been linked with a move to Galatasaray this week, with reports he was close to signing for the Istanbul giants.
[Haber Sarikirmizi](https://www.habersarikirmizi.com/galatasaray-haberleri/galatasaray-la-anlasmadik-bu-haberlerin-neden-ciktigini-h28066.html) cover comments Ilhan Gündoğan (who is also his uncle) made to Turkish football presenter Emek Ege when asked about Galatasaray’s interest.
The agent played down Gala’s interest in the Manchester City player and said they don’t have an agreement with any Turkish club. He went on say reports of a transfer are just speculation and that he doesn’t know where these claims originated from.
_“At the moment, there is no agreement with any club in Turkey or any official talks going on. I find it difficult to understand why such news is coming out,”_ said the player’s agent.
In the past 24 hours there have been claims in the Turkish press that Gündoğan is close to signing for Galatasaray and that it was only a matter of time.
[Beinsports.tr](https://beinsports.com.tr/haber/ilkay-gundogan-transferinde-imza-an-meselesi) reported the Manchester City central midfielder had agreed on a salary of up to €6m a season and that he would be announced as a Gala player soon.
Other reports in Turkey said Cimbom would only look to complete a deal for the midfielder once they’d secured the signing of Napoli forward Victor Osimhen.
Gündoğan made 54 appearances for Manchester City last season and is contracted to the Premier League side until June 2026.
