Man Utd transfer news&rumours as eye-opening Bryan Mbeumo revelation made and new Corentin Tolisso update emerges

Brentford ace Bryan Mbeumo and Lyon midfielder Corentin Tolisso have had major developments unfold around them in the latest Manchester United transfer news and rumours.

Bryan Mbeumo is a key Manchester United target for the Red Devils this summer alongside Matheus Cunha, who was signed from Wolves for a £62.5m fee in June.

The 25-year-old French-born winger has been at the centre of an ongoing saga for the Red Devils and United made two bids for Mbeumo to Brentford last month.

However, Brentford rejected United’s two approaches for Mbeumo and the Red Devils are tipped to return with a third improved bid for the Bees star this summer.

Mbeumo, who has been linked with Premier League side Tottenham this summer, has reportedly opened up about his desire to leave Brentford and sign for United.

Here are all of the latest transfer details that United fans need to know about the likes of Brentford attacker Mbeumo and Lyon player Corentin Tolisso this summer.

Man Utd fans will be disappointed with a major ‘setback’ in the Red Devils’ transfer pursuit of Brentford winger Bryan Mbeumo

The Athletic has now reported that the distance in the valuation that Manchester United and Brentford hold over Bryan Mbeumo ‘remains considerable.’

According to David Ornstein, both United and Brentford are ‘several million pounds apart’ and there has been a lack of ‘significant developments’ in recent weeks.

United’s blow over pursuing Mbeumo continues after The Athletic claimed that a deal is ‘still not imminent,’ despite the desire to land the attacker for Ruben Amorim.

However, the publication has suggested that ‘talks continue’ between Brentford and United and the Red Devils are still working to complete the transfer this summer.

Mbeumo is under contract with Brentford until 2026 and the Bees want a transfer fee that eclipses what United paid for Matheus Cunha from Wolves this summer.

Lyon midfielder Corentin Tolisso has now emerged on Man Utd’s transfer radar amid reinforcing Ruben Amorim’s midfield options

Corentin Tolisso is in his second spell with Lyon after he left Bayern Munich in 2022, having lifted five Bundesliga titles, the Champions League and two German Cups.

According to L’Equipe, United have been linked with Tolisso and have ‘expressed interest’ in bringing him to Old Trafford as part of Ruben Amorim’s squad rebuild.

The French newspaper has claimed that United made ‘initial contact’ with the 30-year-old former France international’s ‘entourage’ over a potential transfer.

Tolisso has reportedly already rejected a move to Turkey this summer, but L’Equipe has claimed that the Lyon star is ‘not indifferent’ to signing for a ‘prestigious team.’

The former Bayern Munich star is under contract with Lyon until 2027 and the Red Devils are tipped to buy a new midfielder for Amorim’s tactical system at United.

Man Utd now benefit from Real Madrid securing the signing of Alvaro Carreras from Benfica in a sensational summer transfer

Alvaro Carreras has now taken a major step forward in his playing career after Real Madrid landed the former United youth academy product from Benfica this summer.

United had a £25m buy-back clause inserted in Alvaro Carreras’ Benfica contract after the Primeira Liga outfit signed him in a permanent deal in 2024.

Carreras, who initially signed on loan at Benfica, left United and was snapped up by the Portuguese outfit for a £5m fee (€6m), with a further £2.5m (€3m) in add-ons.

The 22-year-old Spain-born left-back made his move to the Spanish capital permanent after Real Madrid triggered Carreras’ £43m release clause at Benfica.

Benfica’s official website on Monday confirmed that United would be “entitled” to receive 20 per cent of the profits made from Carreras’ move to Madrid.
