Report: Leeds want to sign 'phenomenal' star as club give green light for deal, player open to…

Leeds United manager Daniel Farke

Leeds United are eyeing a deal to sign highly-rated goalkeeper Senne Lammens this summer, according to GVA (via Sport Witness).

The Whites are in the market to add a new shot-stopper to Daniel Farke's squad after they returned to the Premier League following two seasons away, with current goalkeeper Illan Meslier expected to depart while Karl Darlow was initially signed as a back-up.

The club have been scouring the market and have been linked with a host of options for the position, and it has now emerged that they are in the race for the young Belgian.

Lammens, who has been described as 'phenomenal' by scout Jacek Kulig, is regarded as one of the top young goalkeeper prospects in Europe, and his performances have seen him attract the attention of several clubs on the continent.

One of those clubs is Leeds, who are looking to bring in a new first-choice goalkeeper, and they have identified the 23-year-old Belgian as one of their preferred targets. It has now emerged too that his club Antwerp are ready to cash in on him as a result of the interest being shown.

Antwerp are looking to earn at least €20m (£17m) from his sale and have already signed his replacement for the upcoming season, which means they are willing to do a deal.

The player himself is also open to the move as he wants to take the next step in his career as he looks to secure a place in the Belgium squad for the 2026 World Cup, and a move to the Premier League is his preferred destination - but only if he's going to be the number one goalkeeper.

Sunderland, Manchester United and Galatasaray have also been linked, but Leeds will be hopeful that they can strike a deal ahead of the competition to strengthen their squad as they look to avoid returning straight back to the Championship.
