TBR Football understands that Bayern Munich’s £58.5 million bid for Luis Diaz has been rejected, and sources claim it will take at least £70million to get him out of Liverpool.
The Reds are keen not to sell the 28-year-old this summer, but they could be tempted to accept an offer if it is on the right terms.
TBR Football can reveal that Liverpool made a shock enquiry over Alexander Isak, but Newcastle United will not be welcoming any approaches for their star striker.
Arne Slot’s team are keen to sign a number nine this summer, and that could lead them to rival the Magpies for Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitike or RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko.
The Merseyside club are in a position where they need to sell to buy, but moving on Diaz would certainly help their push for a new striker.

Sources: Luis Diaz is unhappy with Liverpool’s transfer stance
Luis Diaz has been left unhappy with Liverpool’s unwillingness to sell him or make him a contract offer, sources have told TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey.
As TBR Football reported earlier this month, Liverpool are not on speaking terms with Diaz over a new deal, having backed away from their decision to sit down with him.
The winger currently earns around £60,000-per-week at Liverpool, making him one of the lowest earners among the club’s array of attacking talent.
Diaz’s frustrations have increased further by the fact that Liverpool are adamant he’s not for sale. Bayern Munich and FC Barcelona have been made aware of this stance.
However, sources have informed TBR Football that Diaz could yet be sold by the Reds, but it will only be on their terms and for a fee of at least £70 million.
Liverpool hold the power in the situation as the Colombian international still has two years remaining on his contract and are in a strong financial position.
Speaking about the situation, Bailey exclusively told TBR Football: “Bayern Munich have put their money where their mouth is and come in putting just under £60 million to Liverpool, they really believed that this would at least get the door open and they could hold talks.
“But Liverpool are saying no – they really don’t want to do business and said the same to Barcelona when they came calling.
“Liverpool are really standing firm – there is still a belief from what I am told that Diaz will be sold, but if he is, it will only be on Liverpool’s terms.
“They have told Diaz he isn’t getting a new deal, and also that he is not for sale. Diaz is not happy, but Liverpool have the power at this stage as he has two years left on his deal.”
Liverpool should steer clear of Rodrygo Goes move
Liverpool have been linked to Rodrygo Goes, but the Reds should steer clear of a move for the Brazilian international.
The 24-year-old has fallen out of favour at Real Madrid and his form compared to Diaz shows why Slot would be better off keeping his current winger.
Arsenal also want Rodrygo, and the Reds should not be worried about letting their Premier League title rivals have a free run at him.
The attacker netted six goals and got just five assists, which is seven goal contributions less than what Diaz managed in the Premier League.
