Every year, companies are asked to pay up in a big way if they want their commercials featured during the Super Bowl.

The price for ads is only going up. According to reports, FOX pulled in record ad revenue for Super Bowl LIX back in February, selling a number of 30-second spots for more than $8 million each.

According to a recent report from Adweek, NBC, which will broadcast Super Bowl LX in February, is threatening to topple FOX's record. The network is reportedly now seeking $8 million for a 30-second Super Bowl commercial after selling out of its number of spots that were going for around $7 million each during upfront season.

In addition to $8 million for a Super Bowl ad, NBC is also asking prospective buyers to guarantee $8 million in spending across its other sports properties, which will include the NBA next season, as well as the 2026 Winter Olympics.

"There will be a fair number of clients-a pretty decent chunk of clients-that are paying $8 million a spot and matching that dollar volume in other sports with NBC," one buyer told Adweek's Bill Bradley.

FOX also reportedly began selling its Super Bowl spots for $7 million last year, but was able to sell some for $8 million and up after a number of advertisers backed out.

Adweek also reported that NBC is in discussions with the NFL for more inventory, which is something FOX had for last year's Super Bowl. If granted more slots, it would help the network challenge FOX's record of $800 million in ad revenue.

Super Bowl LX is set for Sunday, February 8, 2026 at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
