Man Utd need to address the No.9 situation at the club and one international offered to Ruben Amorim could be on the move.

Manchester United’s hunt for a new striker took a surprise twist in their efforts to offload Jadon Sancho when they were offered an expensive option in return.

Sancho is reported to have agreed terms with Juventus, however, there are still issues with the overall cost of the deal that the Italian giants want to hammer out. One way of compensating is for them to move a player in the opposite direction with Douglas Luiz and, most notably, Duham Vlahovic being offered.

It could be a two birds and one stone scenario with United in desperate need of an experienced striker and Juve considering cancelling the 25-year old Serbia international’s contract such is the state of the relationship between the two parties in Turin now.

Man Utd would be a good option for Dusan Vlahovic

One person who thinks Old Trafford could be just the place for Vlahovic is former Juventus great Darko Kovacevic the current Olympiacos boss who, speaking to Firenzeviola, said: "We can't afford him at Olympiacos, but Milan and Manchester United could be good options for Dusan. And maybe Nottingham Forest... It's a joke: we're owned by the same club as the English club, but I only work for Olympiacos."

Unfortunately for United, it looks like Vlahovic is going to be the latest striker to turn them down with AC Milan said to be winning the race for his signature and the Juventus striker keen to stay in Serie A. Despite his problems at the Old Lady of Italian football it doesn’t look like he is going to be short offers with plenty of good teams considering a move.

A powerful all-round striker, Vlahovic, bought for £70m by Juve, is as close to the sort of striker that United thought they were getting when they signed Rasmus Hojlund.

Vlahovic narrows his options down to one club

One of the reasons why Juventus are trying to get rid of Vlahovic is the cost of his contract. A weekly salary in the region of £300,000 has been reported with figures even higher than this being seen in some places.

According to Gazzetta de la Sport, Juventus are still considering terminating Vlahovic’s contract if an agreement can’t be reached elsewhere: “The season-long cost of the striker, who arrived from Fiorentina in the winter of 2022, has been estimated at twenty-five million gross, including salary (twelve million net) and a loyalty bonus spread across the various years of the agreement.

“Terminating his contract is a viable option, but both parties are seeking a solution with the least possible damage. Vlahovic has declined offers from Fenerbahçe and the Saudi court. The option of joining AC Milan hasn't been cancelled; Serie A would be a desirable option for the player.”

As a wise man once said - “another one bites the dust.”
