Everton could see their pre-season clash against Accrington Stanley called off on Tuesday.
The Toffees are due to face off against the League Two outfit at the Wham Stadium on 15 July, but a cancellation could be on the cards.
This represents David Moyes’ first pre-season clash in charge of the Merseyside outfit, in what is his second spell at the helm.
As a result, the Scottish head coach is unlikely to be impressed to learn that the clash against the Reds is set to be called off at the final hour.

Accrington Stanley v Everton to be called off
After the pure heat and humidity of the past week, many would have expected any games to be called off for that very reason.
That isn’t the case for the Goodison club, who look set to see the clash against their local rivals called off due to heavy rainfall.
This has been reported by Joe Thomas (15 July), who has questioned whether the game could be abandoned due to heavy rain, despite it supposedly being the middle of the summer.
With this news breaking on Merseyside, former FIFA official Keith Hackett has spoken out about the chances of a cancellation at the Wham Stadium.
Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Hackett said: “Both clubs will want a situation where they can be assured that they can get 90 minutes of play.
“Accrington Stanley, like several clubs in the lower divisions, do not have the sophistication of playing surfaces that we see in the Premier League. Underground feeding of the grass.
“Water Systems and, of course, banks of heat lamps stimulating the quick growth of the grass. It has been a difficult summer with slow growth, and Accrington will want to avoid damage to the playing surface.
“*An early decision is to avoid the costs of policing, Stewarding and travel for the fans.*“
Everton await abandon verdict v Accrington Stanley
There is no doubt that Moyes will be keen to get some minutes in his players’ legs to begin summer testing properly.
The Scot has a busy schedule coming up, one that includes a trip to America to face a number of Premier League outfits.

This will allow the 62-year-old to look over his squad and assess what he needs, especially with someone like Harrison Armstrong preparing to start against Accrington.
It will now be interesting to see if this clash goes ahead against Stanley or whether pre-season starts on a damp note. Quite literally.
