It seems like Manchester City have been linked with Rodrygo Goes for years now.

Until about a month ago, Rodrygo was on Manchester City’s radar.

However, Pep Guardiola’s side no longer wish to sign Rodrygo, which serves as a huge show of faith in both Jeremy Doku and Omar Marmoush, considering Jack Grealish could depart the Etihad Stadium this summer.

With Doku impressing at the FIFA Club World Cup and Marmoush performing from day one in a City shirt, the Sky Blues would be justified to hope that both players are set to have incredible seasons.

Man City should sign Real Madrid star Eduardo Camavinga

As Eduardo Camavinga is Pep Guardiola’s dream signing, Manchester City should be incentivised to secure his services this summer.

Considering Nico Gonzalez could depart the Etihad Stadium, the 22-year-old could take his spot in their squad as he too is a box-to-box midfielder by trade. But unlike the Spaniard, Camavinga could provide adequate cover for Rodri as he has operated as a number six at the highest level as well.

When Real Madrid beat Borussia Dortmund 2-0 in the Champions League final last year, Camavinga was arguably the best player on the pitch — having played the role 106 times in his career.

Aside from Tijjani Reijnders, Manchester City lack another energetic number eight in their ranks who is an adept defender and the youngster is arguably a superior tackler than the Dutchman, more athletic and better equipped to cover ground with ease.

While in possession, where Camavinga is similar to Bernardo Silva is is that he is an excellent dribbler, who has especially looked past his best last season while also being an expert at carrying the ball and bringing his team up the pitch — a quality the Portuguese maestro seems to lack nowadays. The former Rennes wonderkid’s statistics further emphasise why he is the complete midfielder.

The stats prove that if Manchester City were to sign Camavinga, not only would he improve them massively out of possession — which was one of their biggest weaknesses last season but is also a terrific passer of the ball — averaging an impressive 60.88 passes and 4.84 progressive passes per game over the past year.

Man City have an advantage in the race to sign Camavinga

With the two-time Champions League winner being a tremendous technician and proven at the elite level as well, he would instantly elevate this City side.

Manchester City News exclusively revealed that Galatasaray is Ilkay Gundogan’s dream destination and in the event that he bids farewell to the Etihad Stadium, Camavinga’s signing would especially become a priority.

As a result, it would be best for the English giants to begin their quest to sign the highly-rated starlet already.

Manchester City have worked with Camavinga’s agents already, as they manage Marmoush, who sealed a move to the Sky Blues in January.

As a result, City cannot be ruled out in a race to sign the French international if he decides to leave Real Madrid.
