Ethan Nwaneri
Arsenal have taken a huge step towards prolonging Ethan Nwaneri's contract at the Emirates Stadium, according to reports - with the Gunners now seeing 'significant progress' in the process of extending his deal, to end speculation over his future in north London.
Nwaneri became the youngest-ever Premier League footballer in September 2022, at the age of just 15 years and 181 days - beating Liverpool star Harvey Elliott's record and being the youngest-ever outfield player to feature in the top-flight of English football. With such a promising talent on their hands, the Gunners won't want to lose him - and now reports have stated that they have confidence that he will remain at the Emirates.

Arsenal believe that 'significant progress' was made over the weekend, with indications over him staying in north London being 'positive' at this stage - and that is a huge boost for the Gunners, who are aiming to keep their academy star and utilise him more next season after making 37 appearances in all competitions in the campaign just gone, particularly starring in the League Cup.
Signing a professional contract on his 17th birthday, Nwaneri was introduced off the bench just once in the 2023/24 campaign, before really making his mark in a breakthrough campaign last season with nine goals in all competitions, including a brace against Bolton Wanderers in the League Cup, a first Premier League goal against Nottingham Forest, and a goal against Manchester City later on in the campaign.
Evidently a player who will go on to achieve great things in his career, Nwaneri could play a backup role to Bukayo Saka this season once Noni Madueke joins from Chelsea and features on the left, as well as backup to Martin Odegaard in the hole - and with the Gunners once again competing on four fronts, he will get the chance across multiple competitions to be the star under Mikel Arteta.
