A member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has been pencilled in for a surgical procedure on Tuesday.
That’s according to journalist Alberto Pereiro of Onda Cero, who point towards Jude Bellingham as the player in question.
Bellingham, for his part, has long been playing whilst some way short of full fitness.
This comes owing to a shoulder injury, which has seen the England international suffer a series of relapses over the course of the last 18 months.
When taking to the pitch, Bellingham sports heavy padding on the shoulder in question, no doubt hampering his mobility to at least some degree.
The decision, in turn, had long been made for the 21-year-old to undergo a surgical procedure upon the conclusion of Real Madrid’s campaign at the Club World Cup.
The exact date for as much, until now, had remained unclear.
As alluded to above, though, on Tuesday, confirmation has arrived courtesy of Onda Cero that:
‘Bellingham undergoes surgery today in London.’
