Lakers to play Nuggets on Friday for their final Summer League game

The NBA has released Friday’s slate of Las Vegas Summer League games, and the Lakers are set to play the Nuggets.

This will be the fourth and final game the purple and gold will play in Las Vegas. The matchup will be played at the Thomas & Mack Center at 7 p.m. PT and will air on NBA TV.

All NBA teams play four games in Las Vegas Summer League. Since there is a semifinal, the league waits to announce the final games until they have a better idea of who will be playing for the Summer League title.

With the Lakers having a 1-2 record in Las Vegas, there will be no semifinal games for them, and they’ll just play the Nuggets for pride on Friday.

The Lakers have been participating in Summer League without two key players, Adou Theiro and Eric Dixon.

Theiro was ruled out with a left knee injury, but is expected to be ready for training camp. Los Angeles moved up twice in this year’s draft to select him with the No. 36 pick.

Dixon, who the Lakers picked up as an undrafted rookie, is out with a foot injury. It was reported earlier that he was joining L.A. on a two-way contract, but Dan Woike of The Athletic says that has not been finalized yet.

While winning has not been a common occurrence for the Lakers in Las Vegas, a few players have stood out. Bronny James has looked like the best player on the court during these three games, and DJ Steward has been an intriguing guard for Los Angeles to consider adding to its roster.

Darius Bazley and Cole Swider have also been productive starters for Los Angeles in Las Vegas.

Head coach Lindsey Harding will attempt to lead the Lakers to a win in their final Summer League game on Friday.

This will be the last Laker game for a while, as they will not begin preseason action until October. Their preseason home game schedule has already been announced.
